Fill the grid so that every row, every column and every 3×3 box holds each digit from 1 to 9 exactly once. Some squares are filled in to begin with, and there is only ever one solution: everything else can be worked out by logic, with no guessing. A digit that repeats in a row, column or box is marked as soon as you place it. With a keyboard, move with the arrow keys and type a digit, or 0 to clear one.
Three grids. The first falls to singles, a square with only one possible digit. The second needs locked candidates and pairs. The third needs an x-wing, where a digit's only places in two rows line up in the same two columns.
Look for the digit that is already placed most often and find where the rest of it can go. The grids print well if you prefer a pencil.
